#11- For the future blogger babies

Its not that hard.

First, id like to mention that blogging is fun! its takes up some time to really sit there and write a good juicy blog post. I took it as serious as my other assignment during this course. This blog helped me write more freely and to really have more confidence in my writing skin. Its like practicing for your essays on here, you can practicing using rhetoric on here in your writing. It's challenging making blogs really long and to still keep your readers interested and locked in. I always include some pictures if it goes with the blog.

#9- Now I see it even more

Ever since we started getting into depth about the media, I started catching myself looking at billboards and commercials more into depth. I mean, I did pay attention before but I never stayed and thought about for a second. Now every time I look at an advertisement I analyze it,  Now every time i watch the news, I think about the other side of the story.

#8- The little Apartment above the firehouse

In Disneyland!

Not a lot of people know this about this secret gem in Disneyland, the one in Anaheim, California.
It is located riiiiight when enter Disneyland at the firehouse!

The little lamp you see there is in remembrance of Walt Disney. this is because every time  he was in his apartment he would have the lam on. The only time it is turned off is when his family is in the park, out of respect.

He would stay at this apartment with his wife for days mostly because he had to be there everyday to work!

#7- "Dumb Men"

Honestly, while scrolling through the blog, I saw that men were portrayed as unintelligent, slow, and almost always submissive to their wife's or girlfriends. I feel like the author is try to get attention the attention of men who are unaware of the way the media makes them seem, and also to women because this is the way most women talk about men.

see right here it shows the dad, that's overweight and a little bald, trying to cook cheeseburgers for his family, while his family looks at his with boredom and disappointment.
Then comes along a tall, average guy with a full head of hair, saves the day with a cheeseburger pizza. I also see quite of bunch of commercials with this same stereo type.

#6 Fur Babies & how they help

Yes..Fur babies.

If you own a dog then you probably already know that "Fur babies" is a a term for a dog considered as a kid.
Now, I'm not saying that dogs comes with all the responsibility as an actual child! what i am saying is that dogs require a lot of attention and love and discipline. They need to be fed, bathed, take them to the vet, you take them on vacations with you, buy them toys and treats. They are a responsibility. Trust me, I have 3 dogs, they are such a handful. Its hard to trust them sometimes, one of them is always up to something bad. I love them to death, but sometimes they're to much to handle. *crying internally*

You have a fur baby is..
  • You throw your dog a birthday (Barkday) party
  • They have a selection of clothes
  • they have  their own room and they can sleep  in your room as well.

I'm just being silly, but people really do all those things for their dogs! They may not considered them their kids, but that some serious love right there. Back then dogs were made to work, they were bought by people who needed a ratter- to kill rats-  or anything they could use a dog for. Now a days people don't need them to be anything else but cute and lovable. More people are single now, and just want a loyal friend.

Dogs can help people emotionally, they can become a licensed pets for "emotional support" if you need your dog to move in with you in student housing, any other housing that will make an exception.
Here is a Video explain what emotional support is and how its done.

Basically, Dogs are amazing, and a blessing.

Hers a video on "A day in the life of Chip the ESA dog" (:

#5 Excelled classes

Everyone is different.

Everyone has a different clock they run on, its life. This article about how ASU is going to start offering more classes in the 7 1/2 -8 weeks program. The author made it very informative by including  ASU officials in her article, giving her good credibility, and there is even some students voicing their own opinions about these shorter classes. like,"ASU sophomore Sheffield Ashton, a 19-year-old business major, likes the traditional 15-week semester. Condensing everything into half of that time would feel too crammed, he said" (Ryman).

Theses classes are great and a blessing for some people who are trying to graduate on time or at a faster rate, but are in a time crunch. Now, I do agree that these classes are not for everyone. It is the same amount of work compressed into half a semester, Everything is done at double speed. Personally, i like these classes because i can chose to take 3 regular length classes, then at the end of the semester i add on my last class. I already did well in my other 3 classes, so i can focus just as much on the shorter course. I have been doing it this way since my first semester in college, and it has worked out just fine.

Entry#2 - Youtube Money

So as I was scrolling through some you tube videos and looking at the famous beauty bloggers i see plastered all over every social media site. I had a thought...I wonder how much they make a month with all this sponsor stuff!?

I did some interesting research and I picked two of the most well known beauty bloggers, Michelle Phan (@MichellePhan) and Yuya (lady16makeup)

Michelle makes up to $15,000 a month and Yuya makes up to $41,000 a month. (adage.com)

Entry #1: My feelings about blogs

Blogs are like written down you tube videos if you think about it. They have the content you want to read about and all the sponsors are placed all over the blog like all those beauty bloggers videos on YouTube and Facebook.

Blogs that I don't like to spend time reading are those Gossip celebrity blogs.

They attract the wrong crowd of people and are almost nothing but negative. They serve a good purpose for sponsors because these sites usually receive quite a bit website traffic.

Blogs I DO enjoy are funny little blogs like
Suri's Burn Book - Yesssssss, I know this is small version of a "gossip" blog, but Suri is Tom cruises and Katie Holmes 7 year old daughter talking about the other little people of Hollywood.

All things Frankie

Hello good people of Eng 102, welcome to my sensational first post that is all about moi.

I go by Frankie now-a-days, but my real name is Frances Martinez. I am 19 years old and a full time student who is striving for a bachelors degree; even though I'm undeclared, I see myself graduating and fulfilling my goals 3 years from now. I am also a full time Hooters girl in the Downtown Phoenix location, so you can catch me there ( I wont charge you for those $3.00 drinks btw).

My hobbies include

  • watching scary paranoia causing documentaries or movies
  • going to Ikea for fun ( just kidding or am I?)
  • Amazon shopping
  • hanging out with my two sassy sisters and the Lovely Momma
  • relaxing with my best friends
I have a love hate relationship with the things I consider to be my passions
  • Im a vocalist I absolutely love singing, but I strongly strongly dislike being put on the spot.
  • Im a ASE certified auto technician, or in simpler terms I'm a state certified mechanic in AZ since I was 17. I enjoy putting my time and effort into these Japanese cars, but all that labor makes my back hurt now.
My goal here at GCC is to get these generals done, so I can get started on this bachelors degree I want earn from ASU.

I was born and raised in the streets of Southern California, I'm from the Florence sub section in LA, CA. I stayed there with my father till I was 14 years old, and I'm also from a small town of 14,000 people called Victorville/Apple valley. I stayed in both area because f my parents Joint custody agreement. Im currently in process of moving on back with my dad and finish school down there.
